Loose Leaf Herbal Tea
Description: Juniper Berry brewed and consumed as a tea is known for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and antibacterial properties. For example, it’s known to help fight bacterial infections, flush the kidneys and bladder to help treat urinary tract infections and remove toxins and helps relieve the inflammation of gout along with numerous other health benefits. Juniper berry is used in the making of syrups, wines, cordials and other alcoholic beverages, most notably gin. Combined with anise, rosemary and other herbs, juniper berry is used as a barbeque seasoning and flavoring for barbeque sauce. Juniper berry imparts a mild pine-like flavor. When used in cooking, it’s a good idea to remember that a little goes a long way!
Juniper Berry Tea: Crush two teaspoons of Juniper Berry per cup of water. Slowly bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy!
