Indian Monsoon Malabar is one of the most unique coffee beans that Prestogeorge imports. The monsooning process dates back to when it took six months to sail the coffee from India to Europe. The high humidity and monsoon rains would absorb into the beans, giving them a larger, puffier, and more yellow, off-white appearance. Today, the prized Indian coffee is picked and spread out across huge windowless warehouses. As the moist and brackish monsoon winds sweep through the beans, they undergo the changes necessary to create the unique, low-acid flavors that coffee connoisseurs love! Our Indian Monsoon Malabar is a medium roast, but because of the lighter shade to the coffee, it looks closer to a dark roast. Expect a low-acid, medium body, with earthy and almost salty notes.
