The answer to the question: “What should I try first?” Our definitive house blend coffee. J.P. Hearty blend was created by our founder, John Prestogeorge (1926-2010), over 40 years ago. The blend is 80% Sumatra Mandheling, and 20% Vienna roast. You will get a smooth cup with a little bit of extra oomph. Many folks call it our “breakfast blend,” as it is a great way to start the day and continue sipping all day long. Not too strong, not too mild, just a very good cup of coffee. All these years later, it is still our top selling blend, earning it the honor of Pittsburgh’s favorite coffee.

JP Hearty Blend and Prestogeorge
Full disclosure…I’m a Buffalo Bills fan who orders my coffee from an “enemy” city. ?IDC. Stumbled upon Prestogeorge Coffee years back while visiting Pittsburgh. Bought JP Hearty Blend whole beans, took them home and bam! I’m hooked. This by far is the best blend you can get anywhere and has been my morning cuppa for 15+ years. I faithfully order coffee from them, always JP Hearty and other varieties. Their monthly biscotti sale has me hooked too. Don’t sleep on these cats. Big name coffee can’t cut it, these guys deliver an outstanding product. (My mailman is now a fan because he’s the one who brings it to my doorstep and I gave him a pound a few years back) Yummmmm.

I visited my sister in Pittsburgh 18 years ago and tried this coffee. It is smooth, bold, but not too dark. Since then, I have been ordering it to all the places we have moved - in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California. I still order it monthly and it comes with us in our suitcase when we travel. This blend is a must for all coffee lovers and hosts!

Quality Coffee
I have been buying coffee beans from Prestogeorge for many years, both from the location in The Strip and online (I live out of state). The quality is consistent, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The coffee industry has been hit hard recently, driving prices up, but Prestogeorge coffee is worth it to me and I will be a customer as long as they are in business.

Worth getting up in the morning
40 years ago a young man stumbled into a little strip district coffee shop intoxicated by the aroma wafting outside. A n older apron clad gentleman attending a chitty bang bang type machine kindly educated me on small batch roasted coffee.. realizing I never had ventured past Folgers instant coffee , recommended the Jo hearty blend.. asking who it was named after he beamed and said your looking at him! 40 years later I still look forward to waking up in the morning to a freshly brewed cup of Jo hearty blend coffee . I’ve tried hundreds of coffees around the world . This is still the one that does it for me

Best coffee ever
This is the coffee you want in your cup every morning. My husband and I drink this daily as our go to bean. Guests come to my house and want to know what I brewed, I have sent this to friends out of town and they start a subscription! You cannot go wrong with JP HEARTY!!

The best!
We had the good fortune of visiting Pittsburgh and stayed in a wonderful Airbnb that had the JP Henry available to us. The coffee was so good that I had to contact the Airbnb owner and ask where they got this so I could bring some home. I am now ordering online regularly and I am hooked
