A Collaboration of Neighbors

Prestogeorge Coffee & Tea is one of Pittsburgh’s oldest coffee roasters, family-owned and proudly rooted in the city’s historic Strip District. For generations, we’ve shared our passion for master-roasted coffee with customers across the country. So, when the chance came to collaborate with our neighbors at Wigle Whiskey, it felt only natural. Wigle, an award-winning distillery, honors Pittsburgh’s rich whiskey-making heritage and its role in sparking the Whiskey Rebellion. Together, two Pittsburgh originals unite craft, history, and flavor to bring you something truly rare: Wigle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Prestogeorge Coffee.  Brew the best our city has to offer.

What makes this coffee so unique?

The secret lies in the barrel. Fire-charred oak barrels transform raw grain alcohol into smooth, flavorful whiskey — and they do the same for coffee. When unroasted beans rest in Wigle’s emptied bourbon barrels for weeks, they absorb deep aromas and complex character you won’t find anywhere else. Prestogeorge’s master roasters then unlock that flavor, carefully roasting the beans to bring balance and nuance. The result is a cup alive with notes of bourbon, caramelized sugar, dark chocolate, and warm oaky vanilla.
