Tanzania Peaberry is a great African coffee bursting with the fruity characteristics we know and love from their neighbor Kenya. High in the lower cliffs of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest free-standing peak in the world), the volcanic soil of the world’s largest dormant volcano produces coffee that cannot be found anywhere else. There is a natural mutation that occurs when growing peaberry coffee beans. Normally a coffee cherry will produce two coffee beans, flat sides together. When it comes to a peaberry, there is only one bean and it is more round and smaller than average. Some say this increases the intensity of the flavor of the bean. All we know is, Tanzania Peaberry makes a more acidic cup with creamy citrusy taste to it. Almost like an orange creamsicle swirled in your mug. We roast this specific coffee to a medium, to allow some of the flavors to shine through will keeping the more acidic flavors at bay. Try our light roasted version if you want a truly unique tasting experience!
