The Pettiagala Estate, founded in 1880, is situated in a picturesque part of Sri Lanka characterized by terraced rice paddies, winding roads, and meticulously arranged tea gardens that seamlessly follow the land's natural curves; the name "Pettiagala" literally means "box-shaped rock," referencing a large, inverted rock marking the entrance to the estate. 

The heavy bodied flavor profile and mellow aroma will have you wanting to make a cup of this gorgeous tea for yourself. Long large leaves of this black tea brew a vibrant amber color and smooth tasting notes of light florals, carmelized brown sugar, and a hint of maltiness (without crossing too far into Assam territory).
